People with disabilities are able to use their individual budgets to hire a Supports Broker to help them coordinate their self-directed services. A Broker provides assistance to empower the person to direct these supports, and may: assist with hiring and managing self-directed employees; identification of community resources, goods, and services; facilitate circles of support; and provide additional assistance related to self-direction.

Our discussion will focus on Self-Directed Services, the role of the Supports Broker, and how - when used effectively - they can support people to lead truly self-determined lives and be fully engaged in community life.
