Netflix's Operation Christmas Drop is based on a real-life, ongoing U.S. Military mission - the oldest humanitarian mission our military engages in. “The film is a from-the-heart, wonderful love story, wrapped around a true humanitarian endeavour that happens every year at Christmas. And it’s been happening at Christmas for almost 70 years,” says director Martin Wood. “It’s a reminder about what Christmas really is, and is supposed to be: heartfelt giving with no expectation of return, helping those that need help from people who are equipped to give it.”
