What should you do when you have a warning light on your dash?

Such as

Check engine light on
Traction control light on
Transmission light on
Airbag light on
SRS light on
Electronic throttle control light on
DEF light on


When any of your malfunction indicator lights come on its just an indicator that the system the light is for has an electrical malfunction or a mechanical malfunction that the electronics can pick up.

The ONLY way to know whats going on is to connect the correct scanner that’s capable of reading the system you have the malfunction with.

When I suggest a “capable” scanner I mean a multi system scanner.
Those are the best ones for almost any car after 2003
Before then a 4 systems scanner is going to work unless the issue is beyond the main engine,trans, airbag and traction.
When the car has weird electrical issues and MULTIPLE warning lights are on the dash then a multi system scanner is needed.
