The thing I really like about this one is it's nice mix of men and women. Even though it's called Women Grow, it's got a nice balance. This event being created by women has a very different quality to it. A lot of other networking events it seems like the goal is to get the most cards and then give out the most cards as you can. This event is more friendly, it's more engaging. It's more about community building.

This is the one year anniversary for the Portland chapter Women Grow, which is a national organization. There are 48 cities throughout the nation that have chapters, and ours is the largest chapter in the United States. We've done an event the first Thursday of every month, and this is our celebration. I think that women in this industry can take it above and beyond. Women are taking it to another level.

I've never been involved in a community that I've seen so much growth. If you think about this, this is like real growth like the creation of an economy that has happened amongst the people in this room over the course of one year.

1:24 Advocate for Business Done with Love
I'm an advocate for the entire cannabis genus. This plant from industrial to medical and adult use has benefit to humankind, and everyone needs to know that. We have a responsibility. We have 80 years of miseducation to undo. People need to know what this plant can do for our economy, for humankind and for our planet. In order to do that we have to plant smart, and we have to integrate all sectors of the cannabis industry, so that they are working together cohesively. This is our chance to do this, and to do it right and to build this industry with ethics, with morals and with love.

This evening has been great. It's been an anniversary. There's cake, there's champagne. There's celebration. This first year with Women Grow has been amazing for me. I cannot see where they take this next.
