US President Joe Biden reportedly regrets dropping out of the re-election race, as he believes he could have beaten President-elect Donald Trump. According to The Washington Post, the outgoing president has also acknowledged in private that he "screwed up" the presidential debate against Trump in June. Notably, President Biden’s debate performance, where he struggled to put arguments together, made him look worse in already negative opinion polls. Less than a month later, the Democratic Party urged the 82-year-old president to step aside, making way for Vice President Kamala Harris to replace him. However, his belated decision gave the vice president only three months to build a campaign against Trump, resulting in the Republican sweeping all swing states.
