Mountain Association, a CDFI in rural Kentucky, has supported their client, a community grocery store, to become more energy efficient and, subsequently, a more reliable community resource. The grocery store, Isom IGA, is a pivotal resource to the community, as it’s the only grocery store within a 40-mile range and provides local jobs. Increasing the store's energy efficiency has helped the owner save money, which has been reinvested to support the store’s employment and strengthen the community resilience.
