In this easy and fun science activity for students, I demonstrate how to make a natural acid-base indicator using China Rose petals (hibiscus). This experiment is perfect for Class 7 Science and matches the chapter Acids, Bases, and Salts Class 7.

I show how to extract the color pigment from the flower, turning it into a acid base indicator. Then, I test it with vinegar (acid) and soap water (base) to observe the color change—dark pink or magenta in acids and green in bases.
