Building a small log cabin on an off-grid location in Sweden using hand tools, paracord, and hemp yarn. This will be my winter base camp and it will be the starting point of many future trips. The shelter is built on a friend's land using only dead/blown down pines and moss which I have permission to collect, the moss is not protected and with the land owner's permission, it is legal to pick. The moss will grow back in full amount within a couple of years. Half of the materials used in building this shelter are reused from a previous Teepee build, it took me about 50 trips and 2 days to carry all the moss and the sticks from the Teepee spot to this spot. 😅

This build is somewhat of an experiment to me, I've never built a shelter like this in living trees before. I hope that it will stand for a long time, but I think the growth of the trees will decide how long that is. There are more upgrades that can be done on this shelter, but I'm very happy with the outcome and I won't spend much more time improving it... (probably). This shelter is way warmer and way more comfortable than I'm used to, and I still want somewhat of the "harsh" outdoor experience.
