Truefitt & Hill Sandalwood | The Daily Shave

Описание к видео Truefitt & Hill Sandalwood | The Daily Shave

Today's shave features products from the renowned Truefitt & Hill. One of the oldest of the trade in all of England. Dating all the way back to a barbershop in 1805.
The Sandalwood Shaving Cream is a glycerin-based shaving cream. A little bit of cream goes a long way. This cream also takes a lot of water! Once properly hydrated it is very cushiony, and slick. This cream also feels very hydrating on the face, almost like a lotion!

According to their website, the scent contains notes of "Soft base notes of sandalwood, tonka, and cedarwood, while delicate middle accords of lavender, thyme and jasmine blend easily with fruity twists of pineapple and melon. Top notes of lemon and bergamot give a perfect finishing touch."

This Sandalwood is very different from any current Sandalwood offering. In the fact that it isn't true sandalwood. There are other components blended in, and the result is a light scent, but that smells sweet, smooth, and masculine. A blend reminiscent of a men's cologne. This one's a crowd pleaser and a personal favorite.

A huge thank you to my friend Mark, of Friendship Shaving, from Devon.

The razor is an Ever-Ready Streamline. Produced for in the 1930s, and again in the 1950s. This razor has a small cult following for being the smoothest, and best designed of all the Every-Ready razors. Two distinctions between the 1930s and 1950s versions, the 1930s version had larger cutouts at the bottom, while the 1950s version had much smaller cutouts. Why This is, I am not entirely sure. Several sets were released. One set contained a razor to strop the blade, along with the actual razor. While mainly released in the U.K the Streamline did see a small U.S release labeled under the "Gem" line of razors and it was called the "Jewel". Very few were in production, and even fewer can be found today. This razor is a staple and welcomed addition to the den.

The brush is from an Artisan known as Dogwood Handcrafts. Who first came on the brush making scene in 2016. Making acrylic and wooden hybrid models. This artisan has really developed over the years and has improved his skills creating a variety of hybrid acrylic designs in unique colors, and shapes. I am fortunate to have had this one custom made for me for my 26th birthday.

The knot is from APShave Co, known as the "Luxury" knot. It is badger, and boar mix brush. Providing the best of both worlds at a very affordable price. While it started off rough in the beginning, after a period of breaking in the tips became soft, with just enough scritch, and plenty of backbone.

Thanks for watching, and thank you, everyone, for their continued support.
