On March 8, 2024, the Kavli Nanoscience Institute held a science symposium to celebrate twenty years of innovation and impact in nanoscience and nanotechnology at the center. The first session of the KNI20 symposium, "Next-Generation Energy Storage Materials and Architectures", featured an introduction by Caltech alumnus Dr. Jennifer Dionne (Ph.D., APh ’09) and a talk by Dr. Shirley Meng (University of Chicago) entitled, "Materials Innovation and Interfacial Science for Better Batteries".
