One thing that drives me nuts about German cars is that they use wheel bolts; wheel studs are better for so many reasons: stronger, more consistent clamping load, and ease of wheel install. While I was converting my wife's X5M to wheel studs, I went a head and ordered the ECS Tuning studs designed for 11-20mm spacers. I originally had 12mm in the front and 15mm in the rear, but I didn't like how it looked. Unfortunately, you can swap them front to back on the E70 because the center bores are different. I went ahead and purchased 20mm spacers for the front, and it looks PERFECT.

This is a pretty cheap and easy upgrade. It should take you less than an hour and only costs about $300 to really improve the functionality, safety, and looks of your X5M.
