Road To Change: Plastic Wastes' Found Purpose In Meghalaya

Описание к видео Road To Change: Plastic Wastes' Found Purpose In Meghalaya

With plastic waste being a global menace that is also affecting the environmental conditions of the State, my Government found a solution to use the wastes in building our roads. This is the story of our 'Road To Change' in Meghalaya. Our State laid its first plastic road in 2018 in #Nongstoin and with the success of our first venture, we built our second plastic road in 2019 in #Tura. What is encouraging about the stories of our plastic roads in Nongstoin and Tura is that the initiative witnessed huge public participation within the respective communities as people took upon themselves to collect the plastic wastes from their households for our roads. After seeing the response in both our districts, we decided to initiate the #MeghalayaPlasticChallenge in the State to encourage our citizens to partake in our mass movement to build roads in rural Meghalaya. This is just the beginning of our efforts and with the response we are already getting from our citizens, we look forward to building more plastic roads in our State. Let's all join the movement!
