Restored Lionel Scout train 1947 with early style knuckle couplers, smoker

Just finished this Scout this morning and felt like sharing. The tender had the early design couplers that came before knuckles so I added a few cars I had that used that type couple. It's going to be added to a over-and-under figure 8 set I'm making in a couple days for sale. It's always challenging refurbishing these old Scout plastic box motors. Very rarely do I get the shell back together in 1 try and have it run flawlessly on the first test run! A little assembly trick I learned when putting the shell together is to poke the armature a little with a small screwdriver through the hole in the cover to line it up with the armature bearing. They're always a challenge!
