MHW Iceborne - How to be an Ackerman? Dual Blades Guide & Speedrunner Secret

A. 3 Modes of Dual Blades:
1. Normal Mode (0:15)
This mode has lowest DPS. As Dual Blades player, you don't need to stay in this mode.
🌟 Normal Attack (0:19)
➡️ Double Slash, Return Stroke and Circle Slash respectively.
🌟 Normal Roundslash (0:22)
➡️ Lunging Strike and Roundslash respectively.

2. Demon Mode (0:25)
This is Ackerman Mode. It deals highest DPS and fast mobility. B-b-but, you have to manage your stamina effectively in this mode.
📌 This mode depletes your stamina. For your comfy and safety, you can use Marathon Runner skill or Dash Juice buff to slow stamina depletion.
🌟 Demon Attack (0:33)
➡️ Demon Fangs, Twofold Demon Slash and Sixfold Demon Slash respectively.
🌟 Demon Roundslash Attack (0:40)
➡️ Demon Flurry Rush, Roundslash, Double Roundslash respectively.
🌟 Special Demon Attack: Blade Dance (0:44)
It can be a finisher after performing Demon Flurry Rush or demon attack combo respectively.

📌 Clutch Claw Combo in Any Mode (0:47)
🌟 Demon Clutch Claw Combo (0:57)
Special Demon Roundslash Attack (0:59)
➡️ Demon Flurry Rush, Roundslash, Double Roundslash, Claw Attack + Spinning Rising Slash.
📌 It can be an instant Claw Tenderizer after performing Demon Roundslash Attack respectively.

3. Arch-Demon Mode (1:07)
Charge Stamina Mode! Recover your stamina before back to Demon Mode!
📌 When your stamina runs out after Demon Mode, switch your mode to Arch-Demon Mode soon. While your stamina is being recovered, you can also attack the monster with Demon Flurry Rush that can be mixed with Normal Attack + Demon Flurry (Arch-Demon Mode Special Attack). Demon Flurry works like Blade Dance in Demon Mode but its attack depletes the Demon Gauge. This mode becomes active out of Demon Mode after filling its Demon Gauge.
🌟 Arch-Demon Simple Combo (1:10)
➡️ Demon Flurry Rush and Demon Flurry respectively.
🌟 Mixed Arch-Demon Combo (1:13)
➡️ Demon Flurry Rush, Double Slash, Return Stroke, Circle Slash and Demon Flurry respectively.

📌 Besides, if you want to master Dual Blades properly you have to use Link Attack! Link Attack is the most important thing on Dual Blades. It can make you chain any combo!

B. There are 3 Link Attacks of Dual Blades:
1. Rising Slash (Any Mode)
This is the key of Dual Blades chain combo!
📌 Rising Slash can be done after Evading (Roll / Demon Dodge) or after performing Demon Flurry Rush / Lunging Strike.
2. Demon Flurry Rush (Demon and Arch-Demon Mode)
This link attack MUST be done before performing Rising Slash!
3. Lunging Strike (Normal Mode)
This link attack works like Demon Flurry Rush. B-b-but as I said earlier. You don't need to stay and attack the monster in this mode.
📌 The 4 Types of Link Attacks:
Type 1: Lunging Strike, Rising Slash (1:30)
Type 2: Roll, Rising Slash
Type 3: Demon Flurry Rush, Rising Slash (1:48)
Type 4: Demon Dodge, Rising Slash
🌟 Simple Rising Slash Combo (2:01)
➡️ Demon Flurry Rush, Rising Slash, Demon Dodge.
📌 Aerial Combo (2:20)
🌟 Spinning Midair Blade Dance: Ledge, Wall, Sliding and Wedge Beetle.
🌟 Long Spinning Midair Blade Dance (2:44)

C. Evading on Dual Blades (2:09)
Roll / Demon Dodge can be switched to Evade Shot (need a Slinger Burst Ammo that can interrupt a monster attack) in the middle of Normal, Demon and Arch-Demon Combo.
📌 Keep in mind, you CANNOT do Evade Shot after performing Roundslash Attack / Lunging Strike / Demon Flurry Rush.
📌 The 5 Types of Evade Shot:
Type 1: Rising Slash, Evade Shot
Type 2: Normal Attack, Evade Shot (3:20)
Type 3: Demon Attack, Evade Shot (3:24)
Type 4: Demon Flurry Rush (📌 Optional), Blade Dance, Evade Shot (3:32)
Type 5: Demon Flurry Rush (📌 Optional), Demon Flurry, Evade Shot (3:38)
🌟 Simple Evade Shot Combo
➡️ Roll, Rising Slash, Evade Shot (3:44)
➡️ Demon Dodge, Rising Slash, Evade Shot (3:52)
➡️ Demon Flurry Rush, Rising Slash, Evade Shot (4:03)

📌 Notes:
🌟 You can perform Blade Dance / Demon Flurry directly after performing Demon Flurry Rush, just skip the Rising Slash.
