J'écoutais cette magnifique chanson au début de mon adolescence avec un plaisir fou. Il n'y a toutefois que très peu de gens de mon entourage qui connaissent cette chanson.

Strawbs se forment en 1964 sous le nom de The Strawberry Hill Boys, tandis que les membres fondateurs étudiaient toujours au St Mary's Teacher Training College, à Strawberry Hill, en banlieue de Londres. Le nom est raccourci à Strawbs pour un concert de juin 1967, dans lequel ils veulent afficher le nom du groupe sur la scène. Leur leader est l'auteur-compositeur le plus actif du groupe, Dave Cousins à la guitare, au dulcimer, au banjo et au chant (né David Joseph Hindson, le 7 janvier 1945 à Hounslow, Middlesex), qui forme la première mouture du groupe avec Tony Hooper (né Anthony Hooper le 14 septembre 1943) à la guitare et au chant, et Ron Chesterman (né Ronald George Arthur Chesterman le 27 novembre 1939 et décédé le 16 mars 2007), à la contrebasse.

J'ai proposé ce projet à mes potes musiciens que ne refusent jamais d'enregistrer de bonnes chansons. J'ai aussi formé un petit choeur de 11 personnes pour chanter dans la finale de cette superbe suite en trois parties.

À titre informatif, il est à noter que les séances d'enregistrements pour "Autumn'' se sont entrecroisées avec celles du projet de Noël de 2022, ''The Closing of The Year''.

I was listened to this beautiful song in my early teens with with such pleasure. It's funny to mention that there are very few people around me who know this song.

Strawbs formed in 1964 as The Strawberry Hill Boys, while the founding members were still studying at St Mary’s Teacher Training College in Strawberry Hill, a suburb of London. The name is shortened to Strawbs for a concert in June 1967, in which they want to display the name of the band on the stage. Their leader was the band’s most active songwriter, Dave Cousins on guitar, dulcimer, banjo and vocals (born David Joseph Hindson, 7 January 1945 in Hounslow, Middlesex), who formed the band’s first incarnation with Tony Hooper (born Anthony Hooper on September 14, 1943) on guitar and vocals, and Ron Chesterman (born Ronald George Arthur Chesterman on November 27, 1939 and died on March 16, 2007), on double bass.

I proposed this project to my musician friends who never refuse to record good songs. I also formed a small chorus of 11 people to sing in the finale of this superb three-part suite.

For your information, it should be noted that the recording sessions for "Autumn'' intersected with those of the 2022 Christmas project, 'The Closing of The Year'.
