Modifying Yamaha DTX HH65 Hi Hat Controller to be realistic

Описание к видео Modifying Yamaha DTX HH65 Hi Hat Controller to be realistic

At first, I wanna buy a hihat stand with RHH 135. But, after reading the manual book, it says the sensor that used for the controller is a multi-step / multi-stage switch. It means that, the CC value only modified into certain number only (for example: 0, 37, 100, 127) not in full range of 0-127 like Roland VH or Alesis Pro HiHat. More over, RHH 135 only has 2 zones, while PCY 100 & 135 have 3 zones as hihat.

So, I decided to try combining these Gibraltar Avenger 5607 Hihat Stand with my DTX HH65 for my DTX 522k. Finally, this tutorial is the result. It works well, and the feeling is better.

I recommend to use hihat open setting to 30 to have decent steps of hihat opening level.

Thanks.
