Welcome to Part 1 of the Somis Solar Project — a multi-episode series where I’ll be taking you through one of the largest residential solar and battery builds I’ve ever consulted on. This system is massive: 43 kW of solar power paired with 90 kWh of whole-home battery backup. As the project unfolds, I’ll be documenting each major step, showing you the engineering, construction, hardware, and all the behind-the-scenes work that goes into a system of this scale.
Slazik Electric is leading the installation on this one, and they’ve done an incredible job so far. They’re a licensed C-10 contractor and certified electricians serving Los Angeles and Ventura County, handling everything from general electrical work to solar upgrades and battery additions. If you’re looking for electrical services or considering adding batteries to your existing system, check them out at www.slazikelectric.com
For this system, we’re installing one hundred JinkoSolar 430W N-type modules, four Tesla Solar Inverters, and six FranklinWH aPower 2 batteries. The goal is full home backup and a dramatic reduction to a Southern California Edison bill that’s been hovering over two thousand dollars a month. This series will showcase how all of these components come together and why proper design and coordination matter so much on a project this size.
If you’re an electrician wanting to expand into solar — or you’re already in the industry but need consulting, engineering, permits, utility interconnections, pricing support, or proposal tools — I’d love to help you grow your solar division the right way. Visit me at www.reinnovations.org and let’s connect.
And of course, if you’re a homeowner wanting a consultation for solar or batteries, or you just need a real quote without the pressure or nonsense, I’m here for you. Reach out through my website at www.reinnovations.org
Stay tuned — more episodes of this project are coming soon as we continue building out one of the largest residential clean-energy systems in Southern California.
