On the east side of Youngstown, Ohio is a forgotten playland for swimming, picnics, concerts and relaxation. It's a green space that also holds some interesting history going way back into the 1700s before John Young even knew about the Mahoning valley. Take a stroll with me and let's walk thru time to discover what this area was used for by present people and most importantly the Indian Tribes that once occupied our precious valley. This was once the area known as Nea To Ka (Council Rock) where tribes would gather 3 times a year for different celebrations, in 1775 they had no idea it would be the last celebration they ever held again in this special area. So, grab your shoes and let's imagine time from the French Indian war all the way to the mid 80s!
