The Vellore Institute of Technology (also known as VIT) is a private, designated institution in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India. VIT, which was founded in 1984, has developed into one of India's most prestigious colleges with a strong emphasis on technological education and research.
VIT provides undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees in a variety of subject areas, including engineering, management, law, design, computer applications, sciences, and arts. There are many colleges and divisions at the institution, including the School of Computing Science and Engineering, School of Electrical Engineering, School of Mechanical and Building Sciences, School of Social Sciences and Languages, and the School of Advanced Sciences.
