While visiting a temple, a young scholar (Ivy Ling Po) is enchanted by the daughter of an important family, also stopping over at the temple. When rebels threaten to abduct the girl, the scholar with the assistance of the girl's clever maid servant (Li Ching), save her and outsmart the bandits. In addition, the young maid help bring together the bewitched young couple in spite of her family's objections. A must see for period opera fans.
