Today we're going to talk about what causes an eye stye. A stye is a small fluid-filled sack on the inside of the eyelid that can be very irritating. It's typically a bacterial infection but can be viral. A stye is a very common problem, but many people aren't sure what to do about them. The information I'm going to share today could also relate to a boil or abscess.

The most common white blood cell is the neutrophil, and it's your primary defense against infections. The neutrophil will typically go in and actually eat up all of the harmful bacteria. But, if you've consumed too much sugar, you're a prediabetic, or a diabetic, the neutrophil will almost always go after the sugar instead of the infection.

One of the worst things you could do when you have a stye is to consume anything with sugar. What you may want to do is cut out all sugar from your diet.
