This is a ballad I made with my feelings since hearing the news about Renee Good last week. 🦋

In the days before news media, ballads were how local news spread from person to person and town to town. Cause if you make a story into a song, it's easier to remember. I've learned and heard a bunch of ballads, and some of them tell about murders. So it made sense to me to tell Renee's story like that.

At the same time, my faith helps me believe that somehow we are going to make it past this dark chapter in American history. They may have shot down Good, but they can't keep down GOOD.

This is not a perfect take cause it was the first time I ever sat down and sang it.

But we don't really have time for perfect when our neighbors are getting shot in the face, now, do we?

My child was just doing what he does, playing around. His piano playing was direct from his heart.
