Welcome back to Episode 2 of my Total War: Warhammer III – Immortal Empires Karl Franz campaign.

We pick up right where Episode 1 ended with an ambush on Hans, which… does not go quite the way I expected. What should have been a clean trap turns into a lesson in positioning, AI behavior, and why I probably should have seen this coming.

This episode is all about early-game fundamentals, adapting when plans fall apart, and trying to minimize casualties while clearing out the remaining Empire Secessionists. Along the way, I make a couple of very avoidable mistakes, including messing up the ambush and once again forgetting to recruit units. Consistency is important, after all.

In this episode:

We resolve the ambush on Hans (with mixed results)

Fight multiple early-game battles manually

Clear out key Secessionist forces and settlements

Level up Karl Franz and begin shaping the campaign direction

Discuss short campaign victory conditions and next-phase goals

Continue proving that I am, in fact, still bad at Total War

This series is a learning-in-public project. I’m not pretending to be optimal or efficient. The goal is to slow down, improve decision-making, and actually finish campaigns instead of collapsing under a pile of war declarations.
