IT Minister, KT Rama Rao formally inaugurated the historic step well at Bapu Ghat which was recently revived. The restored step well of Bapu Ghat is part of the elaborate efforts of the State government to restore defunct, dilapidated, and historically vital step wells of Hyderabad by collaborating with civic society including several well-meaning voluntary organizations and individuals from Hyderabad.
A few months ago, as part of efforts to revive step wells, Hyderabad Design Forum (HDF) had submitted a list of 100 step wells in Hyderabad to Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) that can be restored. The State government later decided to shortlist the wells that will be facelifted and take up works in a phase-wise manner.
