The Department of State Services (DSS) has taken legal action against former presidential candidate Prof. Pat Utomi, accusing him of attempting to illegally usurp the executive powers of President Bola Tinubu by establishing a shadow government. In the lawsuit, the DSS claims that Utomi's actions seriously threaten national security and Nigeria's constitutional order. They assert that the proposed shadow cabinet represents an unregistered and unrecognised entity that operates contrary to the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999. Further allegations include that Utomi has publicised this body's formation across various platforms to challenge the legitimacy of Nigeria's democratically elected government.
