PinCurls are useful when trying to maintain curls from a set or from hot tools. They are not used to curl straight hair. (A hot tool/set would be needed first)

Three different pin curl methods are:

1. The Flat Pin Curl
#Smooth the hair together so that you create one large curl. #Twist the hair in the same direction and wind it from ends to root.

#ProTip be sure the ends are neatly tucked inside the curl so that you do not create #fishhooks.

2. Flat Pin Curl (Method 2)
Use two or three fingers (depending on how large you want to curl) and wrap smooth hair around them. Be sure the ends are smooth before removing the fingers, flattening the hair, and placing a pin at the root to secure the curl.

3. Barrel /Stand-up Pin Curl
Useful to add more #volume. Use this method in concert with any of the others, use it all over the head or simply at the crown to create more #fullness. The #steps to achieve the barrel pin curl are the same as method two of the flat pin curl. However, be sure not to flatten the hair when removing the fingers. It should almost look as if the hair still has a roller inside it. Then use your pin at the root to secure.
