Welcome to my latest video exploring one of the most futuristic libraries in China – the Beijing City Library. Just opened in Beijing's urban sub-center, this architectural marvel is not just a library but a symbol of modernity and cultural richness. Designed by the renowned Norwegian firm Snøhetta, it's located beside a serene canal and is built to foster learning, knowledge sharing, and public discussions. The library's unique design features a roof composed of Gingko tree crowns, creating a forest-like canopy over the extensive reading area, resembling a valley nestled in a forest. Surrounded by a 16-meter-tall self-supporting glass facade, it stands as China's first of its kind. Inside, the reading areas and steps are arranged like mountain ridges, with tree-shaped columns that integrate lighting and house climate control and rainwater collection systems.Join me in this journey to explore the intersection of technology, intelligence, and local resources through this architectural masterpiece. Let's discover how Beijing City Library is presenting the richness of Beijing and Chinese culture in a modern space. Dive into this exploration of design, culture, and technology with me!
