He gives his golden retriever warm water and food, shoulders a pack, takes a bow and spear, and steps into the white wind.

In the snow forest, he follows fresh tracks and spots a lone yak. One clean kill—no blood, no wounds shown. In the open blizzard he works fast: skin removed and bundled, meat cut into large blocks (camera avoids gore), then packed into heavy burlap sacks. Bent under the load, he hikes back toward the cabin while the dog stays close and alert through near-whiteout.

Next, they head to a frozen river. He sets a net into an ice opening and hauls up a massive fish—bigger than a man, slick and steaming in the cold air.
