At mid-tide or lower there’s no option but to walk across the reef to get to the lineup at Uluwatu, with a mid-tide actually being the most difficult since there’s a layer of water to look through for your next step.

Some people handle it better than others, but you’re going to feel those sharp parts even if you’re a seasoned reef crosser.
