Google Home New Updates and New Features for July 6, 2018

Google Home, Google Home Mini, and the Google Assistant have all received a number of new updates and new features this week in 2018. This video gives you all of the latest Google Home updates and Google Assistant features for 2018.

The big news this week is the fact that Google Duplex has been shown by Google once again to a number of media and technology professionals. Apparently, Google Duplex is even more impressive and yet now has some of those changes that are so important for it to be accepted as a new Google Assistant feature in 2018. Either way, the announcement is out...Google Duplex will be available in the US in the summer of 2018.

Related to the Continued Conversations update released just a few weeks ago is news about how the release went. Let me just say that it didn't go all that well, and your Google Home or Google Home Mini likely needed a reset or reboot to be able to start working again. This is because there was a privacy setting that became completely locked down on your Google Home. I think what this tells us is that future releases by Google on new updates in 2018 will be very careful and very measured. This will, of course, included the release of Google Duplex.

Google Home and the Google Assistant can speak Spanish! Not only that, but there are multiple versions of the language available today and you can change your Google Home to Spanish and begin using that today.

Not only that, but Google Home is available in Mexico. This coincides with the release of Google Assistant in Spanish. This is ahead of Amazon's release of Alexa as a Spanish-ready voice assistant. Either way, if you speak Spanish or live in Mexico, you can use the Google Home and/or order it.

The LG V40 is an upcoming smartphone from LG that will have an actual button for the Google Assistant. This is a trend we're seeing from phone makers, and specifically from LG. I love the Google Assistant button being on the phone physically instead of having to use the wake words of "Hey Google".
