Volyn massacre must be recognized as genocide of Polish people. The upper house of Poland's parliament adopted a resolution on mass ethnic cleansing of Poles in Western Ukraine during the Second World War. The senators stress in particular July 11th is to be named as "the National Day of genocide, committed by Ukrainian nationalists against the citizens of the Second Polish Republic".

The resolution was supported by predominant majority, that is 60 votes "for" against 23 opponents. According to the official historical data, 100, 000 Poles died during the Volyn' massacre.

Ukrainian historians in turn insist their compatriots also died, therefore, the tragedy is to remain under the same notion, but not to be renamed as a conscious crime against the Polish nation.
