Pupillary dark reflex anatomy

Описание к видео Pupillary dark reflex anatomy

The pupillary dark reflex is the opposite of the pupillary light reflex. Both make use of the same light sensors and the optic nerve, but the dark reflex makes use of the sympathetic nervous system to dilate the pupil whereas the light reflex triggers parasympathetic neurones to constrict the pupil. Sympathetic nerves come from the thoracic spinal cord, so what is the anatomy of this reflex and how might this link problems with the eye to pathology in the chest or neck?
