Many pilgrims have been asking for this Medjugorje bread recipe. We decided to film a local making it. Strict fasting bread doesn't contain eggs, yogurt or milk so this is for beginners. Fr. Slavko explains the importance of fasting as you watch the cook prepare it.

Recipe:
In a small bowl add a teaspoon of sugar, 3 teaspoons yeast,
a tablespoon milk and let rise.

In a large bowl mix 4 cups of flour, a small packet of baking powder,
a pinch of salt, 2 eggs, a small bowl of yeast, 1 cup of plain yogurt,
2 cups of warm milk.

Coat the dough with a little sun flower oil and let rise for 30 minutes.

Roll out the dough, cut into squares, and fry in sun flower oil.

This a beginner’s fasting bread recipe.
Strict fasting bread consists of flour, water, yeast, and salt.

Our Lady calls us to fast on Wednesdays and Fridays
(unless it is a feast day).
