Voidtrain is an open-world survival video game developed by HypeTrain Digital, and was released in Early Access on the Epic Games Store on August 12th, 2021. In Voidtrain, become a crew member of an interdimensional express! Discover a new mysterious world inhabited by amazing creatures, dangers and surprises. Upgrade your train, gather new materials and build better weapons! Available in single player, or in online multiplayer with up to 4 people.

Gameplay
The game is played from a first person perspective, and revolves around gathering materials to build and research aboard a train travelling through the Void.

Development
Voidtrain was first made public on July 25th, 2019 when the @PlayVoidTrain Twitter Account was created, which then started sharing a few pieces of concept art. A proper announcement was later made on June 10th, 2020, with the Summer of Gaming event, where the first Gameplay Trailer of the game was revealed. The playable demo was released on Steam 6 days later, on June 16th. A handful of small hotfixes were to the demo while it was public up until June 22nd. Between the demo's removal and the Early Access Launch on the Epic Games Store, the Voidtrain Twitter account posted various in-game screenshots and videos of new features, locations, and items that were being worked on at the time.

The game was planned to release on Steam sometime in October 2022, with console releases coming after. However in September of 2022, they announced in the FAQ section of their discord that "We decided to shift the launch of the game on Steam to better prepare future game systems, story content and better test the game. We're not ready to announce other dates for now, but we'll be sure to share with you any specifics as soon as they become available."
