Comedian Stewart Lee chats to Idler editor Tom Hodgkinson about punk music, comedy and his experience of lockdown. Plus we have philosophical comment on the week from Mark Vernon.

Stewart Lee began writing and performing as a stand-up on the London comedy club circuit at the age of 20 and in 1990, won the Hackney Empire New Act of The Year award. Stewart’s stand-up tours include Snowflake Tornado, Content Provider, Stand-Up Comedian, 90’s Comedian and 41st Best Stand-Up Ever and the BBC series, Stewart Lee’s Comedy Vehicle. He is also the author of stand-up studies including How I Escaped My Certain Fate, If You Prefer A Milder Comedian Please Ask For One and Content Provider and several theatre pieces.
