Thousands of kiaʻi including Jason Momoa, Raiatea Helm, Brother Noland, Starr Kalahiki, Hawane Rios, Lanakila Mangauil, Mento Mele and so many more making beautiful music to aid the protection of our precious and life-giving mountain.

On this day you could feel kapu aloha in motion, serving as sustenance to kiaʻi - not just at Pu'uhonua o Pu'uhuluhulu Maunakea, but worldwide.

"Kū Haʻaheo" was composed by Hina Wong-Kalu, and leads off this medley, followed by "Hawai’i Loa", composed by Uncle Liko Martin, 1 of 33 kūpuna arrested while protecting Mauna Kea on the frontline. Collectively, these #MeleKiaʻiMauna remind all kia’i to dig down deep and call upon the force that lives within, so that we might all embody values like Aloha ʻĀina (love for one's land) and ʻOnipaʻa (knowing when to take action, and when to remain steadfast).

This medley calls for the unification of people across Hawaiʻi and worldwide, to truly know and appreciate the endless wonders your land provides, and to do what it takes to protect it. Please join us in standing proud, and together, in raising our voices, "to sing and praise the glories of our land!"
