The Fame and Misfortune of ‘Fame and Misfortune’ (MLP Review)

By 2017, the writers of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic were swimming in bitter comments and negative accusations that the show wasn’t as good as it used to be. And look, some of them were valid, but it was still pretty odd to see a show like this try to fight fire with fire. Fame and Misfortune aired halfway through the seventh season, and by the time it was over, there was already this “may we never speak of this again” vibe surrounding it. It worked in some ways, bringing awareness to the fact that the people behind the show are people at the end of the day, undeserving of being directly bashed, but how were the rest of the episodes’ attempts at warding off…undesireables?

Pretty poor, IMO.
