Synopsis :Dharm Patni is a 1953 Hindi movie starring Nirupa Roy, Motisagar, Durga Khote, Bhagwan,Yashodhara Katju, Kumar and Gope.
When the community start to mock Neeru about her being separated from her husband, Manoharlal, for over 4 years, her widowed mother, Ganga, goes to plead with the latter to take back her daughter. And when he refuses, she instructs her daughter to obey her husband at any and all costs and passes away. Neeru moves in with her husband and his family, which includes his father, Nataraj; mother - a devotee of Sachidanand; sister, Shanta, who is married to Babulal, but has moved back in after quarreling with him; and alcoholic brother, Mohan. Her husband makes it clear that he is not interested in any relationship with her, is seeing a woman by the name of Purnima, who he hopes to marry after their divorce, and gives her 3 months to pretend that they are married. Neeru accepts this condition and soon takes charge of the family, fires wasteful servants, organizes the household, befriends Mohan...
