Anton Dostler was the German army General. He joined the German Army in 1910 and served as a junior officer during WWI. During World War 2, he was promoted to General major and served as Chief of Staff of the 7th Army under command of General Friedrich Dollmann. Dostler ordered the execution of 15 American captured soldiers without trial. This order was an implementation of Hitler’s secret Commando Order of 1942, which stated that all Allied commandos encountered should be killed immediately without trial. The 15 Americans were executed by firing squad. Their bodies were buried in a mass grave. After the defeat of Nazi Germany, Dostler was tried before the US military tribunal for war crimes. He was convicted and sentenced to death. on 1st December 1945, General Dostler was executed by a firing squad.

Curt Bruns was the Wehrmacht captain. Bruns was found guilty of killing US soldiers and was sentenced to death by firing squad. He was shot on 15 June 1945 at a gravel quarry in Denstorf. Curt Bruns He was the first Nazi war criminal to be executed by the US military.
