Expressing deep concern, Robert Mardini, the Director General of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), has conveyed the organization's profound shock and dismay regarding the images and accounts coming out of al-Shifa hospital in Gaza. He emphasized that the intolerably dire situation must be halted immediately, stressing the urgent need to ensure the safety and protection of both patients and staff.
The spokesperson for the Gaza health ministry, under Hamas control, previously announced the suspension of operations at the al-Shifa hospital complex, the largest in the enclave. This decision was made on Saturday due to a depletion of fuel (refer to the post at 09:06). Muhammad Abu Salmiya, the director of al-Shifa hospital, issued a dire warning, stating that the hospital is just minutes away from imminent peril.
