Well I certainly earn the channel title "Video Game Esoterica" with this series! lolol

Here comes the NEC PC-FX! The failed successor console to the NEC PC Engine. It absolutely bombed when it was released and is probably the worst follow up to a successful console sales wise that has ever been introduced...

But that doesn't mean it doesn't have good games! Except in this case...retro gaming fail!

Up Next: Battle Heat! Oh what can I say about Battle Heat??? It's a fighting game based on full motion video anime sequences. It's basically a FMV Game masquerading as an animated cartoon. Is it good? Absolutely not! Is it a prime example of where NEC and Hudson Soft went wrong with the PC-FX? Absolutely. From a retro gaming perspective it's an interesting game as you can see what FMV games looked like after the Sega CD and before they were put out of their misery! Retrogaming was never so confused as it was in the FMV era.
