How To E-Scout For Bears | Western Spring Black Bear Hunting

How to e-scout (electronic scout) for spring black bears. Before heading into the mountains after black bears this spring it's a good idea to try and do some homework before you step outside. Using online mapping tools like OnX and Google Earth can be great tools to point you in the right direction before you even set foot on the public lands you plan to hunt.

In this video, Dan Wilde explains a technique that he personally likes to use to locate potential bear hunting areas. Having learned from a lot of mistakes as well as gleaning from others who were kind enough to share their knowledge, Dan has a couple tips that have helped him.
