Grinding metal - the perfect angle

To get the maximum performance out of rough grinding with an #angle grinder, you have to think about the best angle between the disc and the workpiece for grinding with a resin-bonded #grinding disc.

In the video, we show you the negative consequence of an angle that is too shallow and show you how to maximise the grinding disc's service life.

If the angle is too low, a very thin, flat edge forms very quickly at the edge of the disc. Even a slight change in the angle means that the thin edge of the disc can no longer withstand the grinding pressure. The result is that the edge of the disc then chips and the disc quickly wears out.

An angle of approx. 30° is optimal. There is then no unbalance during grinding and the edge of the disc remains stable. The result is a long service life for the grinding wheel and high material abrasion with less disc wear.
