Do Anjaane is a 1976 Hindi-language drama film, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha, Prem Chopra, Pradeep Kumar, Utpal Dutt, Lalita Pawar and a young pre-stardom Mithun Chakraborty. Film is directed by Dulal Guha and produced by Tito, it is and based on the story Rater gari of Nihar Ranjan Gupta. The music is by Kalyanji Anandji. It was remade in Telugu as Maavari Manchitanam (1979). The Kannada version Aaseya Bale was released in 1987.
Synopsis:
The story revolves around Amit Roy (Amitabh Bachchan), who is found wounded on railway tracks with no memory of his past. Six years later, he is living with a wealthy couple who have adopted him as their son, Naresh Dutt.
Amit begins to regain his memory after an accident and realizes that his wife, Rekha Roy (Rekha), is now a successful film actress named Sunita Devi. Her manager is Ranjit Mallik (Prem Chopra), who was Amit's best friend and the one who attempted to kill him six years earlier. Amit also discovers that his young son has been sent to a boarding school.
Amit devises a plan to regain custody of his son and take revenge on Ranjit by disguising himself as a film producer and re-entering Rekha and Ranjit's lives. The film explores themes of identity, betrayal, and redemption.
