Disability Granted tells the story of Eric C. Conn, likely the most talented social security disability lawyer in Tennessee until he was arrested and convicted for his part in a massive social security scam. Two social security judges also went to prison.
Think twice about choosing your disability lawyer. Choosing one that never loses didn't work well for thousands of disabled and blind Tennesseans.
Eric C. Conn was the only certified social security lawyer in Kentucky and became one of the three highest earning disability lawyers in the country. Also known as "Mr. Social Security," Conn was known for his success before being drawn into a scam by Social Security Judge, David B. Daugherty. The Judge put all of Conn's cases on his docket and granted them, many times without disability hearings.
Federal prosecutors later claimed their scheme defrauded the government for $550 million. That amount is questioned by this channel.
Former lawyer, Eric C. Conn, is now serving 25 years in prison, only 12 years of which is for his role in the largest fraud in government history. While Mr. Conn enjoys "three hots and a cot," his poverty-stricken clients in Appalachia struggle after losing their social security benefits. Their suffering has yet to end.
