James Gunn's Superman movie has so far proven to be as divisive as Warner Bros executives could have expected… at least among the terminally online content-creators who exclusively view media from the lens of “is it woke or not”, who have diluted the conversation to such an extent that even the comments sections of a tiny review channel like mine are littered with people cynically engaging in the same kind of embarrassing discourse. For those of us not afflicted by brain-worms or simply grifting to the lowest common denominator, attempting to give your opinion online about what makes any given film good or bad can feel increasingly futile, even when it's as inoffensive as James Gunn’s Superman.

If you enjoyed the film, I’m happy for you. If you hated it, good for you. But, if the only word you can use to describe Superman 2025 (and every other mainstream release) is either “woke” or “anti-woke”, I would consider prescribing yourself a heavy dose of ivermectin.
