Screenflow 10: Rolling Edit

This tutorial will show you how to create a rolling edit to change the duration of the clip on the left, and it changes the in-point and duration of the clip on the right.

Rolling Edit: Change the End Point (Split Point) of the clip on the left while changing the Start Point of the clip on the right and changing the duration of both clips while not affecting the placement on the timeline or the total duration of both clips.


Note: Clips must be next to each other with no gaps between the clips in order to create a rolling edit.

How To Create Rolling Edits in Screenflow 10:
1. Hover the mouse cursor at the split point between two clips
2. Look for the Rolling Edit icon (looks similar to an infinity symbol)
3. Click on the Rolling Edit Icon
4. Drag both clips to the right or left
5. The clip on the left and right will change duration but the end point of the clip on the right will not change so the total duration of the clips will not change.
6. Drag the ending/start point to where you want and let go
