Never imagined that I would meet a Belgian who would speak Hindi! such fluent Hindi! Meet the founder of 'Mala India' a non-profit Indian Store that has the most exquisite collection of everything Indian: spices, handicrafts, idols, paintings, home decoration, clothing, utensils, crockery, jewellery, gifts, books, furniture and a selected collection of art pieces from Indian havelies. This fabulous store is huge: you need to reserve an hour or 2 atleast to visit everything.
Situated just 20 mins from Brussel and in the historic city of Waterloo, Mala India is jointly owned by about 50 people today. Each and every person here works on 'volunteer basis' and for free. All profits are dedicated to ensuring children's education in India.
The founder has a rich experience of visiting India and its culture - no doubt he speaks Hindi fluently.
