THE STORY OF THE NEWTON GANG

The Newton Gang was the most successful train robbery and bank robbery gang in history. They were outlaws who operated in the early 20th century. The gang committed dozens of bank robberies between 1919 and 1924, stealing a total of 87 banks and 6 trains. The brothers "took in more money than the Dalton Gang, Butch Cassidy's Wild Bunch, and the James-Younger Gang combined," according to Willis Newton. They never killed anyone, they assert on their own. Although one daylight robbery in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, nearly killed one bank messenger, it is true that they were never charged with any deaths or injuries related to their robberies.
