New university to open in Niagara Falls in 2 years

There is a new post-secondary institution coming to the Niagara Region with a focus on technology-oriented education and economic growth.

The University of Niagara Falls Canada is operated by Global University Systems Canada (GUS Canada) and will provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the modern workforce.

The University of Niagara Falls will offer a variety of distinctive undergraduate and graduate programs in order to meet the specific needs of today’s employers.

The programs will focus on emerging technology, data analytics, business, and digital media.

Ontario Minister of Colleges and Universities, Jill Dunlop spoke to the crowd gathered in Niagara Falls today.

“A new university for Niagara Falls is good news for the region,” Dunlop said. “It will help stimulate economic activity in the Niagara Region and across the province.”

The new university is expected to welcome students in 2024 following approval from the provincial government.
